PADI Rescue Diver Course
The PADI Rescue Diver Course, or RD, not only teaches rescue techniques in the water. On the surface or under the water. With conscious and unconscious victims. But also to detect the signs of a diver with pre-immersion stress that if not treated in time can ruin your own vacations. You will learn techniques to calm and relax that you can use personally as with your diving partner or anyone in the group of divers. All in order to avoid accidents. And if accidents happen anyway, you’re prepared for them. The PADI Rescue Diver course is an extension of the skills learned in first aid courses with CPR, but in an aquatic environment
What does it consist of?
The PADI Rescue Diver Course consists of 5 theoretical chapters, a series of exercises in calm waters and 2 simulated scenarios where you put into practice what you have learned in 3 days. The PADI Rescue Diver course is the rescue course chosen for all those who understand the importance of having a good time when we go diving and know that they can help others if necessary.
Requirements
To be PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or PADI Adventure Diver with the adventure of Underwater Navigation dive properly logged, and to be in good health.
How is the PADI Rescue Diver course?
Start from home. The theoretical module of the PADI Rescue Diver course is online so when you get to the diving center we can go directly to the water. In the diving center just before starting the practices insite we will emphasize the important aspects of the theory such as the quick activation of the local medical emergency system, to have available an evacuation plan and the necessary materials to assist in case of an accident, but we will focus on self-rescue exercises to help yourself and the rescue exercises to help others. The exercise session lasts a whole day (maybe two depending on logistics and weather) so the next day we can use all the knowledge in two simulated rescue scenario where we will apply the new skills just learnt.
The skills we will learn include combinations of situations with tired, stressed or unconscious divers. Both on surface and under water. Methods of search, recovery, extraction and surface assistance. Use of first aid kit, emergency oxygen and implementation of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) maneuvers with and without the help of a Automatic External Defibrillator (AED).
All techniques are worldwide used, so they have the support of the entire diving community of the world. This course is the gateway to that select group of divers who are prepared not only to have a good time diving, but to make sure that their teammates also have it.
